As we’re all aware the road haulage industry is a crucial component of the global economy, facilitating the movement of goods, and whilst the industry has come a long way, it stands on the edge of a technological revolution. In my latest article, I explore the ways in which future technology could transform road haulage, making it more efficient, sustainable and safer.

AI is revolutionising fleet management by offering innovative solutions that optimise operations and improve efficiency. One key way AI impacts fleet management is through predictive maintenance. AI-driven systems can analyse real-time data from sensors and vehicle diagnostics to anticipate maintenance needs. Predictive maintenance can also enhance safety by identifying potential issues before they lead to accidents, ensuring the well-being of both drivers and vehicles.

Electric and alternative fuel vehicles

The environmental impact of road haulage has become a pressing concern. Future technology promises to address this issue with the adoption of electric and alternative fuel vehicles. Electric trucks are already making their mark in the industry, offering zero-emission transportation and reducing the carbon footprint.
